This evening we loaded up to take Jordan to dance. We noticed a man (maybe in his 50's) mowing our neighbors yard. The lady that lives next door to us is an elderly lady and she is the sweetest little lady. I'm not sure if this man was her son..maybe. Near her driveway we noticed a beer bottle. The man on the mower waved and we waved back. We left, dropped Jordan off for dance, picked up a newspaper and got gas in my jeep. As we pulled in our driveway...it took me about 1 second to get ticked off!!! The beer bottle that was just in our neighbors yard was now in ours!!! I noticed the man was in her backyard. I got out of the jeep (Jerry was getting Johnson out) and I walked right over to where he was standing and said "Excuse me sir, this is not our beer bottle. Since it's now in our yard I will toss it in the trash". He looked up at me with this rude face and tossed his hands up in the air and said " Well, it's not mine. I don't drink". I just walked off and came in the house. I vented to Jerry for about 20 minutes.
I knew that jerk had tossed that bottle in our yard.
A little while later Jerry and Johnson left to go get Jordan from dance. I'm doing some laundry and I hear our doorbell ring...it was the "man". I answered the door. He says to me "I have been thinking about you and the beer bottle. I just assumed it was yours and tossed it in your yard."
He then says "I lost my cool and I'm sorry."
I assured him the damn thing was not ours and even if it was why in the hell would we toss a beer bottle in a sweet little lady's front yard?!?! He went on for a few more minutes. He apologized...I accepted...he left.
Point I guess is...it really pisses me off when people "assume".
He assumed wrong!
